BSCMR Webinar: EACVI Congenital Exam Preparation

We are pleased to announce the next session in our educational webinar series, Congenital Heart Disease: EACVI Exam Preparation Webinar, taking place on Tuesday 6th October 2026 from 5:30–7:30pm.

This practical and exam-focused webinar is designed primarily for candidates preparing for the specialist EACVI Congenital CMR examination. Elements of the programme will also be valuable for candidates revising the congenital heart disease component of the general EACVI CMR examination, as well as clinicians seeking to strengthen their approach to congenital CMR.

Led by experts in congenital cardiac imaging, the webinar will include dedicated sessions from Dr Marina Hughes, Dr Sarah Elgamal and Dr Melonie Johns, followed by an interactive quiz delivered by Dr Efsthathios Magkiosis and Dr Evgenia Nikolou. Key topics will include:

  • 1
CMR flow assessment and shunt calculations, including phase-contrast flow measurements and the calculation and interpretation of Qp:Qs
  • 2

The anatomy, physiology and postoperative CMR assessment of transposition of the great arteries

  • 3

A structured approach to evaluating the Fontan circulation and recognising important complications

  • 4

Application of knowledge through interactive, exam-focused questions and case-based discussion

Congenital CMR can be a challenging area of examination preparation. This webinar aims to make key concepts more accessible by combining expert teaching with practical interpretation and interactive learning.
