Dr Pankaj Garg
I am an Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals. My motivation to join BSCMR is to further push the clinical translation and innovation of CMR in the UK.
My research focus is cardiovascular haemodynamics assessment by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging. After completing PhD in CMR at Leeds, I took up the challenge of developing methods to inform cardiac haemodynamics by cardiac MR at Sheffield as an NIHR Clinical Lecturer. In pursuit of my passion, I was finally awarded Wellcome Trust Fellowship in 2021 which I am currently leading in Norwich. My ambition is to discover and advance a better understanding of the interface between cardiovascular flow and cardiac remodelling. I have received 17 national/international awards and have published >135 peer-reviewed papers. I already collaborate with a wider BSCMR network and would like to see a better clinical translation of CMR in district general hospitals in the UK to improve clinical care.
