BSCMR Launches Travelling Professorship Programme to support CMR service development across the UK

The BSCMR is delighted to announce the launch of its new Travelling Professorship Programme, an exciting initiative designed to support hospitals across the UK in developing and expanding high-quality cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) services.

As demand for CMR continues to grow, access to expertise and established services remains variable across the country. The Travelling Professorship Programme has been created to help bridge this gap by bringing experienced CMR leaders directly to centres that are establishing new services or looking to enhance existing provision.

Through the programme, current and former BSCMR Board members with extensive clinical, educational and service development experience will visit host centres to provide tailored, on-site support. Visits will typically last one to two days and may include:

  • Case-based teaching and image review
  • CMR protocol optimisation
  • Workflow and service development advice
  • Hands-on support where appropriate
  • Multidisciplinary education and discussion
  • Mentorship for clinicians, radiographers and trainees

The programme reflects BSCMR’s ongoing commitment to promoting excellence in CMR through education, collaboration and the sharing of best practice. By supporting local teams and encouraging national collaboration, the Society aims to improve equitable access to high-quality CMR services for patients throughout the UK.

We are inviting NHS hospitals and UK centres interested in establishing or expanding their CMR service to apply for a Travelling Professorship visit.

This new programme represents another important step in BSCMR’s mission to advance education, improve standards of practice and support the sustainable development of CMR services across the UK.

Whether your centre is taking its first steps in CMR or looking to build on existing expertise, the Travelling Professorship Programme offers a unique opportunity to learn from nationally recognised experts and accelerate service development.
