BSCMR President Dr Niall Keenan was appointed OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to the NHS. Niall has been a board member of BSCMR since 2018 and was appointed President this year.

Niall is a consultant cardiologist in West Herts NHS Trust and set up a CMR and CT Unit there in 2016. He is a leading figure in the CMR community in the UK with a particular focus on patient access to CMR.

Commenting on his appointment Niall said: “I am deeply honoured to be appointed OBE by His Majesty the King. This award is recognition of a lot of work done over years with colleagues at West Herts, and with coworkers in the UK CMR community. To all of you – thank you!”
