Research Abstracts and Young Investigators Award:

As part of this initiative, the Society will host its Young Investigators Session during the forthcoming 21st Annual Meeting which will be held at the University of Leicester, Sir Bob Burgess Building on 14th April 2026

Young researchers are invited to submit a short (350 word) abstract of their research. Clinicians studying for postgraduate qualifications (MD, PhD, or equivalent) are encouraged to take part and researchers with up to two year’s postdoctoral experience are also eligible. Abstracts covering all areas of research related to CMR, including work at an early stage, will be considered. The abstracts must be CMR related and case reports will not be accepted. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like your abstract to be considered for the CMR Young Investigators’ Award.

Please note: Abstracts that have previously won a young investigator award for the same work/abstract are allowed to submit for the YIA but can submit an abstract for display at the conference.

The authors of the 4 best research abstracts will be invited to give an oral presentation at the 21st Annual Meeting of the Society.  There will be a prize for the winner.

Top 10 research Abstract submissions gain free registration to the meeting on the 14th April 2026

Abstract publication in HEART Journal.

This year we will publish the research abstracts in HEART. Please indicate on the submission form if you do not wish your abstract to be published in Heart.

Case Submissions:

New this year – the top 5 cases submitted will be invited to present at a Cases session run by the Training Lead and Training Committee! Each presenter will be paired with a senior CMR expert to lead the discussion- a great opportunity to network and learn!

Final date for submission of abstracts – Friday 13th February 2026

Young Investigators will be notified of the result of the review by w/c 2nd March 2026

Oral presentations – 14th April 2026
